APRIL 18, 2008--THE LATEST BUZZ ON THE DAVIS/CANAAN VALLEY AREA
Winter has seen it's glory and we are now experiencing springlike conditions. Time to clean up the mess from the snow and prepare for a nice summer season. Visitors are still relaxing and enjoying the scenery and escape to a stress free area. Nights are busy with people enjoying the local restaurants and pubs. It's hard to find a parking place!
The overall real estate market has been slow but has picked up over the last month. There seems to be a strong interest in the town of Davis itself. We just sold another home and another is UNDER CONTRACT. There have been several price reductions and some real deals are out there. Buy now before prices start rising again!!
The old Shop n Save building renovation project is moving forward. According to the developer, it should be ready for business in late 2008. This project along with a couple of others will definitely spur economic development in Davis. The Riverfront Park is moving along and walking trails and openings along the riverbank are now developed. The fisherman are catching trout these days. Stop by and check them out and enjoy the lovely rivefront setting. Flower boxes have been built to provide homes for some beautiful flowers this year. A beautiful live blue spruce tree was donated and decorated with Christmas lights. It will be planted in the park this spring. The new bridge over the Blackwater River is complete and the old bridge has been removed providing a beautiful viewshed looking downriver and the Riverfront Park.
The real estate market has many MOTIVATED SELLERS. Where else can you find a home for less than $150,000 surrounded by 2 State Parks and a Wildlife Refuge along with hundreds of trails and outdoor recreational activiies.
